Police are searching for a man who robbed a Portage la Prairie business at gunpoint Thursday.

Mounties were sent to Midtown Market at 606 Saskatchewan Ave. W. at about 5:20 p.m. after a man wearing a balaclava and dressed in black demanded money.

Supervisor Aayush Shah said the employee and a customer were held at gunpoint.

“Everyone was scared,” he said Friday.

Shah said the suspect ran away with about $300 and that no one was hurt.

Police called in a canine unit to help search for the robber but could not find him. RCMP asked any residents along 7th Street Northwest who might have video of the robber to call the Portage la Prairie detachment at 204-857-4445.
