Power has been restored for a majority of the 1,300 Winnipeggers in the St. Vital area who experienced a blackout Wednesday morning.

Residents were without power beginning at about 6:45 a.m., after a pickup truck crashed into a hydro pole at St. Mary’s Road between Vista Avenue and Britannica Road. Manitoba Hydro crews had restored power for 95 per cent of affected customers by about 9:45 a.m.

A complete restoration is estimated for 4:30 p.m., Manitoba Hydro’s outage map states. Roughly 400 customers are still without power, the map shows.
