On Friday, police pulled over a 38-year-old man driving a gold BMW X5 near Stadacona and Watt streets with the help of the Air 1 helicopter. The vehicle was followed to the 400 block of Aikins Street, where the man was arrested.

He has been linked to multiple commercial break-ins throughout southern Manitoba, police said.

Those incidents include: merchandise stolen from a retail store on the 2300 block of McPhillips Street on Oct. 28, 2025; beer valued at $50 stolen from a storage facility on the 5600 block of Roblin Boulevard on Dec. 15, 2025; electronics worth $6,100 stolen from a store on the 1900 block of Pembina Highway after a U-Haul van was driven through a locked overhead door on Dec. 16, 2025; and liquor and tobacco products worth $2,000 stolen from a hotel in Glenboro.

In two of the incidents, the man was driving a stolen vehicle, police said.
