The drive around Winnipeg, and its adjacent rural communities, is expected to get smoother with a $9-million provincial investment to repair potholes and road damage on the Perimeter Highway.
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor announced the spending in a news release Friday, stating the roadwork would “create jobs” and “help make it easier for families to get around and support vital trade corridors.”
The province has allotted $500 million this year to fund repairs and the rebuilding of provincial highways and infrastructure.
Repairs are expected to begin before the end of the month, the news release said.
