The Manitoba government is giving YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg the $5 million it was seeking for the capital campaign to redevelop its downtown facility.
The organization announced last year it is seeking $5 million from each of the federal, provincial and city governments for its Heart of the City campaign.
The province, which announced the funding Tuesday, is the first level of government to agree to the request.
