Province restores funding for lactation consultants

The province is restoring funding for lactation consultants, the health minister announced Tuesday.

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority cut two positions at the Women’s Hospital at Health Sciences Centre in 2017. The cuts saved the WRHA $90,000 after it was directed to find $83 million in savings by the Progressive Conservatives, who were in government at the time.

Uzoma Asagwara said the Manitoba government has restored that funding permanently.
