RCMP, First Nations police investigate Sandy Bay homicide

Manitoba RCMP and the Manitoba First Nations Police Service have launched an investigation into the shooting death of a man in Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation.

Around 11:25 pm Friday night the Sandy Bay Detachment of the MFNPS responded to a report of shots fired at a home in the community.

Officers attended and found a 30-year-old man who was pronounced dead on scene, RCMP said in a Saturday news release.

Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to call the MFNPS at 204-843-7701, Manitoba Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or submit a tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.
