A 41-year-old man from Duck Bay is facing numerous charges after RCMP arrested a man they say barricaded himself inside a garage with a gun.
On Monday morning, Winnipegosis RCMP received a report that a man had threatened others in the community, then locked himself in a garage while armed, according to a news release.
Residents were asked to leave nearby homes as members of the RCMP’s crisis negotiation team, emergency response team and west district containment team responded.
At around 1:45 p.m., a man exited the garage and was arrested.
The suspect is facing charges including firearms offences, assault, uttering threats and resisting a peace officer. He was also charged with failing to comply with conditions. RCMP say the man remains in custody.
