The Winnipeg Sea Bears have added some size to their roster, signing 6-10 forward Simi Shittu.

Shittu, 25, is known for his rebounding ability and physical presence in the paint. He led the Canadian Elite Basketball League in rebounding in 2023, averaging 9.5 rebounds while contributing 14.6 points per contest with the Calgary Surge.

The British-born forward was named to the All-CEBL First Team and CEBL All-Canadian Team that season. In 2024, he suited up for top-tier clubs in Turkey, Greece and France.

Shittu represented Canada at the 2017 FIBA Under-17 World Cup and was named an All-American in high school in 2018. He played at Vanderbilt University before going pro.

Shittu is the fifth signing of the off-season for the Sea Bears, who also added guards Alex Campbell and Mason Bourcier, and forwards Emmanuel Akot and Tevian Jones.
