A man has been charged after security guards were randomly attacked at separate locations Wednesday morning.

A guard was patrolling in the area of 300 Carlton Street at about 8:35 a.m. when a man suddenly assaulted him. The guard suffered minor injuries, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release Friday.

At about 9 a.m., a guard was checking the perimeter of a building on the 400 block of Ellice Avenue when he was attacked without warning. The man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, the WPS said.

Police cadets patrolling in the area saw the assault, took a man into custody and contacted the WPS.
