Dozens of birds seized from the home of their dead owner by the city’s animal services agency are now up for adoption.
Forty-three birds — including budgies, canaries, cockatiels, finches and lovebirds — were seized Nov. 12. A list of pets being cared for by the agency is online.
Would-be owners can go to 1057 Logan Ave. to see the animals. Adoptions are done in person from noon to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, and from noon to 4:30 p.m. on weekends. The process usually takes 30 minutes to an hour.
“We ask that you show us a photo of your proposed setup for the birds, to ensure they have what they need. Cockatiels, parrots and lovebirds must be adopted in pairs,” the agency’s website states.
The adoption fee for exotic animals, including birds, is $176, plus GST.
