Sex offender arrested day after release from custody

A high-risk sex offender released from custody Wednesday was arrested the next day.

A spokesperson from the Winnipeg Police Service confirmed Saturday that Desmond Jared Shane Catcheway, 36, was arrested in the city for allegedly breaching his probation.

Catcheway was released from the Winnipeg Remand Centre under numerous conditions that prohibited him from possessing a cellphone or contacting his previous victims, among other things.
