Shared Health has tapped a high-profile leader in the nursing profession — who Manitobans will recognize from the countless cameos she made during COVID-19 press conferences — to oversee its operations.
Lanette Siragusa will be at the helm of the provincial organization, starting May 1.
“Siragusa’s a born leader whose vast experience in health care make her a natural choice to lead our organization,” Brenna Shearer, chairwoman of Shared Health’s board of directors, said in a news release published Friday.
The registered nurse has served in numerous clinical and administrative roles throughout her career to date. After joining Shared Health in 2017, Siragusa served as the agency’s first chief nursing officer and provincial lead of health system integration and quality. She was appointed co-incident commander during the height of the pandemic.
Prior to her latest appointment, Siragusa spent the last 15 months working as vice-dean of education and associate director of Ongomiizwin Health Services at the University of Manitoba’s Rady Faculty of Health Sciences.
