A man wanted by police after a shooting in Mathias Colomb First Nation has been arrested.

Pukatawagan RCMP found Austin Castel, 22, after “numerous tips received that led to his arrest as well as the recovery of the firearm used in this incident,” a Wednesday news release said.

He will be remanded into custody on a number of charge, the release said.

Police asked for the public’s help in finding Castel on Tuesday.

A 36-year-old man told officers he was shot during a struggle inside a vehicle after being offered a ride early Saturday. He suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said Tuesday.

RCMP later arrested and charged a 16-year-old boy in connection with the shooting
