A man is in custody after an off-duty RCMP officer spotted a parked previously stolen vehicle in front of a home on the 1900 block of Ross Avenue West Thursday night.
The vehicle had been reported stolen July 2 from a parking lot in the 1700 block of Sargent Avenue. When the officer approached the vehicle, a man allegedly armed with a machete came out of the home, but went back inside when the officer identified himself as such.
Police attended the scene and seized a number of items from the home, including another stolen vehicle, two firearms, ammunition, machetes, and stolen credit cards.
