Suspect charged with firearms offences

A Winnipeg man has been arrested after he was allegedly caught loading a gun outside a home in the 100 block of Kate Street Saturday afternoon. The Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a male in possession of a firearm at about 2:32 p.m. April 26.
Central District patrol officers located a 43-year-old man who wet back into a residence upon seeing police. A suspect was arrested with help from the tactical support unit and officers recovered a firearm during the arrest.
Frank Joseph Roussin, 43, is charged with possession of a weapon, possession of an unauthorized firearm, possession of a loaded or restricted firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a firearm obtained by crime.
He was detained in custody.
