Tanker-truck driver gets ticket after serious crash

One man was sent to hospital and another was given a ticket for careless driving after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 75 on Tuesday evening.
Police were sent to the scene of the collision at the intersection with Provincial Road 305 in Ste. Agathe at about 6:05 p.m.
A westbound tanker truck carrying washer fluid collided with an SUV headed south on the highway, RCMP said Wednesday morning.
Firefighters were there when officers arrived, and they removed the driver of the SUV from the vehicle. A police spokesman said the 75-year-old man, who is from the Rural Municipality of Stanley, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was flown to Health Sciences Centre in a STARS helicopter.
A 62-year old woman, also from the RM, who was a passenger in the SUV was taken to hospital by ambulance. She was set to be released from hospital Wednesday, RCMP said.
The 54-year old truck driver suffered minor injuries, RCMP said. He was given a ticket for careless driving.
