Thompson RCMP seized cocaine, guns and a large amount of cash during a drug investigation last week that led to the arrests of five people.
Police said officers executed several search warrants at homes in the northern Manitoba city last Thursday, along with a targeted traffic stop on a nearby street. Searches of the properties and a vehicle turned up about 100 grams of cocaine, 746 grams of a cutting agent, a large amount of Canadian currency and drug-related paraphernalia, RCMP said.
Officers also seized a loaded .357 Magnum revolver that had previously been reported stolen in Winnipeg, a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun and ammunition.
Two Thompson men, aged 49 and 41, face multiple firearm offences, as well as charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. A 21-year-old Calgary man, who police said was wanted on a warrant out of Yellowknife, faces charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, obstruction, identity fraud and failing to comply with a release order. All three men were remanded in custody.
Two females from Flin Flon, aged 17 and 21, were also arrested in connection with the investigation and released on undertakings.
Thompson RCMP continue to investigate.
