Tories to hold ‘jail not bail’ event at Gateway Recreation Centre

Several Conservative MPs are holding a town hall on bail reform in Winnipeg on Sunday.

Ontario MP Arpan Khanna, the party’s national outreach chair, will host the “jail not bail” event alongside Manitoba MPs Colin Reynolds, Raquel Dancho and James Bezan.

The MPs will “hear community concerns over repeat, violent offenders let out on bail, the rise of extortion and how residents feel unsafe after a decade of soft-on-crime Liberal policies,” a Friday news advisory said.

The event is at the Gateway Recreation Centre at 1:30 p.m.
