A man and a woman are in custody after a bus driver was assaulted Monday night.
Officers were sent to the 2000 block of Main Street shortly before 10 p.m.
A man assaulted the 26-year-old driver after a dispute began, and the woman spat on him, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release Thursday.
After the pair got off the bus, the man slashed the outside of the bus with a knife before the vehicle pulled away, police said. Officers arrested two people in a parking lot on the 1800 block of Main a short time later.
A 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been charged with assault. The man is also charged with four counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release order, while the woman is also charged with possession of methamphetamine. She was wanted on a warrant for two counts of theft under $5,000.
