Two charged after man stabbed near St. John’s Park

Two men are in police custody after allegedly stabbing a 36-year-old man early Friday.
Winnipeg police say officers were called to the area of St. John’s Park shortly after 2 a.m. for reports of a stabbing.
Police, with the assistance of the Air 1 helicopter, located the man who was suffering from several stab wounds. He was taken to hospital in unstable condition and was later upgraded to stable condition.
Around 2:12 a.m., police located the first suspect near Salter Street and St. John’s Avenue. A knife was seized during his arrest, a Saturday media release states.
The second suspect was located on the 200 block of Salter Street.
A 25-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon. An 18-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault.
