Two people are facing charges after someone fired a handgun on Furby Street early Tuesday.
Police were sent to the first 100 block shortly before 5:30 a.m. after multiple people reported the shots and an argument between a man and a woman. Officers arrested a man in the area and found one 9mm round of ammunition on him, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release Friday.
A number of shell casings were found on the ground, and a woman believed to be involved in the incident was seen entering an apartment complex on the same block.
Police arrested another man and two women in the suite shortly before 9:30 a.m. They later returned with a warrant and seized a loaded Glock 9mm handgun and a magazine with ammunition.
A 23-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man are facing gun charges. They were detained in custody. The other two people were released without being charged.
Police asked anyone with information about the incident, or relevant video, to call the major crimes unit at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477 (TIPS).
