Two charged in drug trafficking investigation

Two people have been charged in connection to a drug trafficking operation in the North End.

In February, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns and Gangs Unit began an investigation which revealed illicit drugs were being trafficked out of a home in the Burrows neighbourhood, police said in a news release Saturday.

On April 17 police executed search warrants at a home on the 800 block of Aberdeen Avenue and at a storage locker in the south end of the city.

Approximately $19,000 worth of cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, T3 pills was seized, as well as a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, a “taser” type of device, about $2,500 in cash and drug packaging materials.

A 46-year-old Winnipeg man was charged with 14 drug trafficking and firearm-related offences. He remains in custody.

A 44-year-old Winnipeg woman was charged with six drug trafficking offences and released on an undertaking.
