Woman sought in Cross Lake hit-and-run

Two Cross Lake residents were seriously hurt in a hit-and-run Wednesday. RCMP are investigating and are asking the public for help.

The crash happened at about 12:30 a.m. on the main road in Cross Lake and was reported to police about six hours later. A vehicle leaving the parking lot of the Cross Lake Inn struck two adults who had been walking along the road, and the vehicle fled the scene.

A 59-year-old woman was transported to hospital outside of the community, and a 59-year-old man with life-threatening injuries was taken to hospital in Winnipeg.

Police are asking the public to help identify a woman captured on security video, saying they want to identify her because she might have information about the hit-and-run collision. They’re asking anyone with information to call Cross Lake RCMP at 204-676-2600 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
