Two motorcyclists hospitalized after St. James Bridge crash

Two motorcyclists were taken to hospital following a collision on the northbound lanes of the St. James Bridge early Sunday morning.

According to city police, officers responded to the crash shortly after 12:30 a.m. on June 7. Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were already at the scene providing emergency medical care when patrol officers arrived.

Both riders, men in their 20s, were transported to hospital in unstable condition. Police said their conditions were later upgraded to stable.

Investigators took over the investigation, and the northbound bridge was closed to traffic for several hours, reopening at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crash, including dashcam footage, to contact the Traffic Unit at 204-986-7085. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS or via its website.
