Two suspects wanted in Thompson slaying arrested

Police have arrested two males accused in the slaying of a man in Thompson in late August who were on the run.

RCMP say four males had gone to an apartment complex on Ashberry Place in Thompson on Aug. 30 at about 7:30 p.m., where they got into an altercation with a 33-year-old and another man. The 33-year-old man was shot and died in hospital.

Two men were arrested in early September, while another man and a teen boy remained at large. Noah Crane, 26 of Oxford House, was charged with second-degree murder, while David Linklater, 20 of Thompson, was charged with two counts of assault cause bodily harm and robbery.

Ashley Clipping, 34 of Winnipeg, was wanted on a warrant for two counts of assault cause bodily harm before he was arrested on Monday by Brandon police.

The 16-year-old boy from Bunibonibee Cree Nation turned himself in to Thompson RCMP on Wednesday afternoon. He’s been charged with manslaughter.
