Two taken to hospital after Aberdeen Avenue fire

Two people were taken to hospital in unstable condition after they were rescued from a house fire on Aberdeen Avenue early Wednesday.

Firefighters were sent to the 300 block at 12:13 a.m. and declared the fire under control at 12:39 a.m.

On Tuesday, crews were sent to a fire at a two-storey house on the 1400 block of Ross Avenue West at 9:13 p.m.

Everyone inside got out of the building safely. Firefighters used aerial ladders to blast water on the blaze, and the police helicopter monitored the situation from above.

Firefighters declared the fire under control at 12:48 a.m. Wednesday.

The City of Winnipeg’s emergency social services team was sent to the scene to help residents.

The home sustained significant smoke, fire and water damage, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said in a news release.
