A busy Friday for Winnipeg’s pro soccer club was underlined by the departure of standout goalkeeper Rayane Yesli.

Valour FC dealt Yesli, 24, to Atlético Ottawa for midfielder Noah Verhoeven and financial terms that were not disclosed.

Yesli officially signed with Valour in 2022 after being selected third overall in the 2021 Canadian Premier League U Sports Draft. The Canadian keeper took full command of the starting role last season and was nominated for the CPL’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.

Verhoeven, 24, was officially loaned to Valour by Atlético Ottawa, for which he made 27 appearances in 2023, registering one goal and two assists.

Valour also signed Canadian keeper Jonathan Viscosi, who played for Vaasan Palloseura of the Finnish First Tier where he made eight appearances and conceded five goals last season.
