Winnipeg Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi suffered a lower-body injury early in the first period of tonight’s game and has been ruled out for the remainder.
Vilardi was taken down by Los Angeles Kings forward Blake Lizotte, who received a two-minute tripping penalty, and fell awkwardly on his right knee.
Although he managed to make it to the bench without assistance, he was clearly in some pain.
Vilardi was facing his former team for the first time since the blockbuster trade last June which saw Pierre-Luc Dubois go to Los Angeles in exchange for Vilardi, Alex Iafallo and Rasmus Kupari.
