A Sunday afternoon fire at a West End apartment building is under investigation.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded at 2:19 p.m. March 23 to reports of a fire in an apartment building in the 500 block of Simcoe Street. Crews saw heavy smoke coming from the building. They attacked the blaze and declared it under control at 2:43 p.m. Paramedics assessed one patient on the scene and no transportation to hospital was required. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
