A live exercise to test emergency and security protocols will take place at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport Thursday morning.
The Winnipeg Airports Authority issued a news release about the exercise, which takes place at the airport between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The airport conducts regular exercises throughout the year to test planning for emergency- and security-related incidents, the release said.
“During the exercise, travellers, visitors, airport employees and the public may see increased emergency activity, including airport stakeholders and emergency response personnel, emergency vehicles and airport equipment on the airfield, but should not be alarmed,” the release said.
The airport will remain open throughout the exercise, and passengers will not be affected.
