A Winnipeg woman was killed when an SUV veered over the centre line and hit her vehicle head-on on Highway 16.
A Manitoba First Nations Police officer came across the aftermath of the collision at about 5:40 p.m. Monday near Macdonald, about 25 kilometres northwest of Portage la Prairie.
An investigation determined a southbound SUV driven by a 47-year-old Winnipeg man hit the 50-year-old woman’s northbound SUV. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Visibility might have been a factor in the collision, RCMP said Wednesday.
The man was transported to a local hospital and then to Winnipeg for more treatment.
