Woman groped on bus, suspect sought

Police are searching for a suspect who sexually assaulted a young woman on a bus Saturday morning.

Police said the 19-year-old was on a bus in the St. Vital area at about 11:15 a.m. when an unknown man sat beside her. Police said Monday that the man suddenly touched her lower body “in an inappropriate sexual manner” and later followed the woman off the bus, then walked off in an unknown direction.

The man is described as white, in his 40s, with short grey hair and an average build.

The Winnipeg Police Service’s sex crimes unit is asking anyone with information about the incident or suspect to call 204-986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 (TIPS).
