A 54-year-old woman was killed in Sapotaweyak Cree Nation earlier this month, RCMP say.
Mounties in nearby Swan River were called about the woman’s sudden death on July 8. RCMP went to her home on the First Nation and found the woman dead.
An autopsy has since determined the victim died as the result of an injury she received in the days before her death, which is being investigated as a homicide, RCMP say.
Major crimes investigators have taken over the homicide probe but have not yet announced any arrests.
