A woman waiting at a bus stop was killed when a vehicle veered off the roadway last week.
The crash happened in the area of Abinojii Mikanah and St. Mary’s Road at about 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 16. The woman, 49, was taken to hospital in critical condition and died Thursday.
A vehicle was headed east when the driver went onto the shoulder of the road and struck the victim, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release Tuesday. The WPS called the collision a “rollover,” adding the driver was not hurt and remained at the scene.
Traffic investigators do not yet know how fast the vehicle was travelling, Winnipeg Police Service spokeswoman Const. Dani McKinnon said. No charges have been laid, police said.
The WPS asked anyone with information related to the crash, or relevant video, to contact its traffic division at 204-986-7085, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477 (TIPS) or online.
