Three people are facing charges after police found a loaded zip gun during a traffic stop.
Officers saw several people in a taxi were not wearing seatbelts and stopped the vehicle on the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue at about 12:23 a.m. Tuesday, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release.
Police determined one man was wanted on an arrest warrant and another was found to be breaching curfew conditions. As police were removing the men from the taxi, they saw a firearm part inside.
Police determined the improvised gun was chambered with a .22-calibre round of ammunition.
The men, ages 25 and 33, are facing several charges each, and a 27-year-old woman is facing a single weapons charge.
