The Assiniboine Park Zoo will close for 12 days for annual maintenance beginning Monday, giving Winnipeggers one more weekend to catch the Zoo Lights display before the conservancy removes the bulbs.
The site reopens with regular hours on Jan. 18.
In the meantime, The Leaf and its associated biomes will remain open, but will close for maintenance and display switchover from Jan. 13-15. Currently on view at The Leaf is Birdsong & Boughs: A Holiday Migration.
Later this month, the Assiniboine Park Conservancy will open its annual Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE. Featuring “15 one-of-a-kind fresh floral mannequins created by local floral designers,” the exhibition will be held in the Babs Asper Display House.
“Due to capacity limitations and the anticipated popularity of the Fleurs de Villes event,” the conservancy warns that “visitors are strongly encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.”
