MAPLE CREEK, Sask. – Saskatchewan RCMP say a longtime teacher and volunteer in Maple Creek is accused of sexually assaulting a boy in the early 2000s.
Mounties say the suspect was a teacher and continued to work as a substitute teacher until recently.
The school division says he is no longer an employee.
RCMP say he also volunteers with local youth sports and music programs, including as a coach and trip chaperone.
Dexter Bacsu, who is 64, is charged with one count of sexual assault related to a sports trip.
Police say a sexual offences complaint can be made at any time and there could be other complainants.
