DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — David Coit had 27 points in Northern Illinois’ 91-78 victory over Appalachian State on Saturday night.
Coit also added five rebounds and six assists for the Huskies (1-1). Zarigue Nutter added 19 points while going 8 of 12 and 2 of 3 from the free throw line, and he also had six rebounds. Philmon Gebrewhit shot 9 of 10 from the free throw line and finished with 18 points.
The Mountaineers (1-1) were led by Donovan Gregory, who posted 17 points. Appalachian State also got 16 points from Christopher Mantis. In addition, CJ Huntley finished with 14 points.
Up next for Northern Illinois is a Monday matchup with Illinois Tech at home, and Appalachian State visits Oregon State on Tuesday.
