LAVAL, Quebec (AP) — Fletcher Abee’s 25 points helped UNC Asheville defeat Wofford 85-82 in overtime on Saturday night in the Northern Classic.

Nicholas McMullen’s layup gave the Bulldogs the lead for good as they closed the extra period with a 6-2 surge. Corey Tripp’s four-point play for Wofford with three seconds left in regulation forced overtime tied 79-all.

Abee was 5-of-10 shooting, including 4 for 9 from 3-point range, and went 11 for 12 from the line for the Bulldogs (3-3). Jamon Battle scored 17 points and added eight rebounds and five assists. McMullen had 12 points.

Tripp led the Terriers (2-4) in scoring, finishing with 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Dillon Bailey added 20 points for Wofford. In addition, Kyler Filewich finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks.
