LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Christian Cook had 15 points in New Mexico State’s 63-53 victory against UTEP on Thursday night.

Cook shot 4 for 13 (3 for 8 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line for the Aggies (7-9, 1-0 Conference USA). Kaosi Ezeagu scored 10 points and added seven rebounds. Brandon Suggs had 10 points and shot 2 of 4 from the field and 6 for 6 from the foul line.

Tae Hardy led the way for the Miners (8-7, 0-1) with 21 points and three steals. Otis Frazier III added 10 points and two steals for UTEP. In addition, David Terrell Jr. finished with seven points.
