American documentary filmmaker Rory Kennedy is headlining Film Training Manitoba’s upcoming conference.
The industry association invites renowned professionals to share their work experiences and provide advice to local filmmakers every year via its Film Master Series.
This year’s event will feature Kennedy, an Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning creative who has made upwards of 40 films. Among the projects directed by Kennedy, the youngest daughter of the late U.S. sentator Robert F. Kennedy, are Pandemic: Facing AIDS (2003); A Boy’s Life (2004); and Last Days in Vietnam (2014).
“Rory Kennedy is an outstanding and tenacious filmmaker, and Film Training Manitoba and our partners are so honoured to be working with her to deliver this important workforce development initiative,” executive director Adam Smoluk said in a news release.
The 2024 masterclass runs Feb. 10-11 at the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology’s site at 130 Henlow Bay. Registration information is available at filmtraining.mb.ca.
