FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) — DaQuan Smith’s 21 points helped Radford defeat Longwood 69-58 on Thursday night.
Smith shot 8 for 13 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 4 of 5 from the free throw line for the Highlanders (11-6, 1-1 Big South Conference). Kenyon Giles shot 8 for 15, including 4 for 8 from beyond the arc to add 20 points. Chandler Turner shot 4 for 10, including 1 for 6 from beyond the arc to finish with nine points.
Walyn Napper finished with 20 points for the Lancers (13-5, 1-2). Longwood also got 11 points and six rebounds from Szymon Zapala. Michael Christmas also put up nine points.
