STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (AP) — Javier Esquerra scored 16 points to help Wagner defeat Stonehill 64-54 on Monday.

Esquerra also added six assists and four steals for the Seahawks (8-7, 2-1 Northeast Conference). Melvin Council Jr. scored 14 points and added six rebounds. Tahron Allen was 3 of 6 shooting and 5 of 9 from the free throw line to finish with 12 points, while adding nine rebounds.

Chas Stinson and Thatcher Stone each scored 11 points for the Skyhawks (2-17, 0-4). Max Zegarowski also had nine points. The loss is the sixth straight for the Skyhawks.
