HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Victor Iwuakor’s jumper with four seconds left lifted Southern Miss to a 64-63 win over Troy on Saturday.
Donovan Ivory led Southern Miss with 20 points on 7 of 13 shooting, including 3 for 8 from 3-point range, and went 3 for 3 from the line for the Golden Eagles (11-8, 5-2 Sun Belt Conference). Cobie Montgomery scored 13 points while shooting 5 for 7, including 3 for 4 from beyond the arc, and added five rebounds. Victor Iwuakor shot 3 of 10 from the field and 4 for 8 from the line to finish with 11 points, while adding eight rebounds and three blocks.
The Trojans (11-8, 5-2) were led by Christyon Eugene, who posted 19 points and six rebounds. Jackson Fields added nine points for Troy. Myles Rigsby also had eight points and three steals.
Both teams next play Wednesday. Southern Miss visits Coastal Carolina and Troy plays Texas State at home.
