ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP) — Jalen Speer scored 19 points and Florida A&M beat Mississippi Valley State 81-70 on Monday night, handing the Delta Devils their 21st straight loss dating to last season.

Speer also contributed seven rebounds for the Rattlers (3-13, 1-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Shannon Grant scored 17 points while shooting 8 of 12 from the field, and added six rebounds. Keith Lamar had 12 points and was 3 of 9 shooting, including 2 for 5 from 3-point range, and went 4 for 4 from the line. The win snapped an eight-game losing streak for the Rattlers.

The Delta Devils (0-19, 0-6) were led by Arecko Gipson, who recorded 21 points and seven rebounds. Mississippi Valley State also got 19 points, nine rebounds, two steals and four blocks from Rayquan Brown. In addition, Donovan Sanders had 13 points and six rebounds.
