Lavigne sets fall concert date at downtown arena
Avril Lavigne will mark 25 years as a performing artist with a worldwide tour that stops at Winnipeg’s Canada Life Centre on Sept. 14.

Lavigne’s performing career started with a bang in 1999, performing alongside Shania Twain in Ottawa after winning a radio-station contest. Lavigne’s solo career took off in 2002 with the hits Complicated and Sk8er Boi, two pop-punk anthems that will be a big part of her greatest-hits tour in 2024.

Power-pop groups Simple Plan and Girlfriends are also on the bill.
