DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — Xavier Amos scored 25 points as Northern Illinois beat Buffalo 72-68 on Tuesday night.

Amos had five rebounds for the Huskies (9-15, 3-8 Mid-American Conference). Zarigue Nutter scored 17 points while shooting 6 of 16 from the field and 3 for 7 from the line, and added 12 rebounds. Will Lovings-Watts had 12 points and was 5-of-10 shooting (2 for 6 from 3-point range).

Sy Chatman finished with 18 points for the Bulls (3-21, 1-10). Buffalo also got 13 points and five assists from Shawn Fulcher. Jonnivius Smith also had 12 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
