ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Makaih Williams scored 23 points as UT Arlington beat Utah Tech 89-78 on Saturday night.
Williams added five assists for the Mavericks (15-13, 10-7 Western Athletic Conference). Phillip Russell was 5 of 6 shooting, including 4 for 5 from 3-point range, and went 6 for 8 from the line to add 20 points. DaJuan Gordon had 17 points and was 4 of 6 shooting, including 2 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 7 for 8 from the line.
The Trailblazers (10-17, 6-10) were led in scoring by Aric Demings, who finished with 19 points. Jaylen Searles added 14 points and two steals for Utah Tech. Beon Riley also had 13 points and six rebounds.
