NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Christian Ings’ 21 points helped Norfolk State defeat Coppin State 92-69 on Saturday night.
Ings shot 7 for 10 (4 for 5 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line for the Spartans (12-7, 3-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Brian Moore Jr. scored 19 points, going 7 of 7 and 3 of 5 from the free-throw line. Jalen Myers had 15 points and went 6 of 10 from the field (1 for 3 from 3-point range).
The Eagles (2-15, 1-2) were led in scoring by Toby Nnadozie, who finished with 15 points and three steals. Coppin State also got 13 points from Jonathan Dunn. Peter Oduro also had 12 points and six rebounds.
NEXT UP
Both teams next play Monday. Norfolk State visits Morgan State and Coppin State squares off against Howard on the road.
